The Bee Movie review

The Bee Movie

This film is about a bee called Barry Benson who has recently graduated college but finds the monotonous life of a bee uninspiring. He flies outside of the hive and breaks a cardinal rule of his society, by talking to a human. He then learns that humans have been stealing and consuming honey for generations, as well as exploiting bees on honey farms, sparking him to file a lawsuit and bring justice to bees everywhere.

I enjoyed this film because, although it is made for smaller children, there are underlying messages linking to real world problems, such as child exploitation and overcoming racial barriers. The animation style and terrible puns made it an enjoyable film for the children and the parents. (and the stupid teenagers watching it as a joke.)

I would highly recommend this film, as it can be a bright family movie with it's humour and animation, or it can be taken more seriously, with underlying themes and messages.
