Warcross- Marie Lu

Warcross
"Some people still say that Warcross is just a stupid game. Others say it's a revolution. But for me and millions of others, it's the only foolproof way to forget our troubles. [...]tonight, I can join in with everyone else, put on my glasses, and watch magic happen."

Ever since her fathers death a poor, young, but gifted hacker called Emika has been trying to survive by catching criminals and turning them in to the police.

But one day she becomes a spy after she illegally and 'acidentally' hacks into the biggest game of all- the International Warcross Championships.

Thinking she would be arrested she is taken by surprise when her role model and billionaire Hideo Tanaka, creator of Warcross offers her a job, to be his spy in the Warcross Championships, along with a 10 million dollar offer and a last minute player in the Warcross Championships

Shortly after Emika accepts the job she is taken to Tokyo, to experience the fame shes only dreamed about. But soon she discovers a sinister plan that will effect all of Warcross.

This book reminds me of the book Ready Player One, in both books has a digital world that most of the plot is based around- in this book it is Warcross, in Ready Player One it is The Oasis.

Like many of Marie Lu's other books Warcross features lots of action, plot twists, ends on a clifhanger, is fast-paced and very addictive, making you wait impatiently for the next book. I would definitely recommend this book.
