The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat is a recount of the history of bizarre medical cases found around the world. True stories of patients reveal the odd and unique predicaments that can fall upon a few unlucky people, such as a woman who's brain forgot about the entirety of her body, or a man who was convinced his leg wasn't his.
I enjoyed reading this as in most psychology diagnosis or information books, the smaller less notable conditions and cases are often bypassed. Although some of the patients were never fully diagnosed, it's still interesting to learn about the curious abnormalities-some of which uniquely gift their hosts.
This book doesn't focus on diagnosis and details however, but is rather to inform the reader about what is possible. The focus being on the stories and people rather than the technical psychological side, showing that weather or not you are under the magnifying glass, we are all still humans.
It's a fascinating read for anyone interested in the obscure, I highly recommend this for anyone curious.
