Steve Surname by H.L Reader, a treat for any fans of Minecraft, is a book series about the protagonist Steve who undertakes the many challenges of protecting his wolf, village, and his own life over the course of three books.
All of the books follow the same routine. Steve (with aid from his wolf Jeremy, and sometimes, his companion Willypoo) will venture out and look for clues to help with the major conflict in the book. Then some ePIC fight will break out and everything is solved. Very interesting.

H.L Reader, being a New Zealand based primary school teacher, knows how to engage a younger audience through his books and regularly incorporates Minecraft and gaming into education.

I found this series boring, mainly because the target age range for this book was evidently aimed for a much younger audience therefore,  I wouldn't recommend this series to anyone over the age of 10.
H.L Reader originally wrote his books for children who were falling behind in reading which I appreciate as there isn't much content made exclusively for these kids. The books are predictable which can help kids think in a different way while reading, while using their own game knowledge. Also the size 20 font used throughout the book could be helpful for children with various learning disabilities who particularly have trouble reading smaller text.

With that said, I'd personally give this book a 1/5 and probably never read it again, however it gets a 5/5 if I was a dyslexic nine year old who still religiously played Minecraft.
