Harry Potter and the Philsopher's Stone - J.K. Rowling

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is the first book of seven in the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling and one of the most popular books ever written. The book was first published on June 26, 1997. It tells the story of a boy called Harry Potter and the discovery of his secret magical powers and the role he plays in the safety of the world of witchcraft and wizardry. It starts on an ordinary night on a quiet street, three people gather, an old man, a motorbike with a huge beard and a grim looking woman. They are talking about a strange series of events, including murder and this means they must leave a sleeping baby wrapped in blankets on the doorstep of an ordinary house on an ordinary street, and the baby's name is Harry Potter.

In my opinion the best thing about this book is all of its characters, the students, teachers, and evil characters all have convincing personalities. I also think that the strength of the friendship between Harry, Ron and Hermione is so strong because J.K. Rowling writes the characters speech very well. She has created a magical world in this book with a colossal amount of detail, but it is written so well that you don't feel like you are being fed a huge amount of information. Throughout this book, we discover the truth about his parents' strange deaths and learn more about Lord Voldemort which is very thrilling.

This is a captivating and page-turning novel which makes you want to read more, and the story combines the best aspects of fantasy and adventure into one. This book is unquestionably worth the time to read and it will have you engaged and captivated right till the last word. I would recommend it to anyone of any age looking to read a book full of action and intense suspense.
