The death and life of Zebulon Finch

The death and life of zebulon finch (Daniel Kraus) introduces a boy, who will only ever be a boy.
The boy, is also dead.
He has been, for over a decade.
After his betrayal and fall from the ranks of the ruthless black hand Zebulon Finch found himself trapped
in the in between, not alive, yet somehow still there. It is his musings and thoughts that make up the book,
through his adventures, mishaps and triumphs which he tells the reader. They give a captivating story of
morality, eternity, friendship and death.
May 7, 1896 was the day that changed his existence-when the cocky bull-headed gangster was gunned
down. After his rescue by an ungodly ‘saint’ he begins a sad life as a sideshow entertainer-soon after
running away into the arms of what he thinks to be a father figure only to lose even more than what he
brought with him. Zebulon fights in WWII, stars in Hollywood, gets framed for murder and joins the world
of casinos and cocktails as he chases tails in an everlasting cycle of desperate cravings. Despite the
numerous companions and less than friendlier aquantinces he makes, Zebulon will always be undeniably
alone.

I liked this book because of the time era and themes, as it does cover multiple. Zebulon's character is
also very well developed and each individual side character has their own profound effect and purpose.
It’s a well thought out book that travels through many different social issues from a different perspective,
namely Zebulon Finch.
(Thankfully, this book is as promising and fulfilling as the cover, and is not some sort of copy of twilight-it’s
vampire free)
